AI clubs & club DNA

Most clubs in your world are not run by managers but by the AI – and since the big AI update they no longer all play the same: every club carries a permanent club DNA, one of six profiles that shapes its behaviour on the transfer market, with sponsors, in training and on match day. The DNA stays with the club forever – even if a manager takes over for a while and leaves again.

The six profiles

ProfileShareHow the club behaves
The Solidapprox. 20 %The classic: buys carefully for its weakest position, sells surplus players, runs its business quietly.
The Talent Factoryapprox. 20 %Hunts young top talents (U23 with very high talent), never lets them go and instead deliberately sells its players aged 29+. Scouts its own youth with extra effort.
The Traderapprox. 20 %Buys and sells on the same day: signings only above its own average, departures only below – trading slowly improves the squad.
The Ambitiousapprox. 20 %Wants to climb: buys first, targets players clearly above its average strength and, if needed, upgrades its front office first to be allowed to sign them. Bids the highest.
The Developerapprox. 10 %Its business model is its own youth: academy and youth pitches fully upgraded, development slots always on the biggest talents – and the finished 18-year-olds go on the transfer list at market value.
The Penny-Pincherapprox. 10 %Hoards its money, hardly ever buys, plays cautiously. Rich penny-pinchers make attractive takeover targets later on.

What it means on the transfer market

AI clubs actively bid on the transfer list – and they follow the same rules as you (starting price never above market value, second-price mechanism). For you this means: well-listed players can now earn real money, because the AI bids up to 1.6× the starting price – the Ambitious even up to 1.9×. If you want to sell talents, Talent Factories are grateful buyers; strong regulars attract the Ambitious. And since almost all profiles list their home-grown 18-year-olds at market value, fresh young players keep arriving on the market that do not come from the void.

What it means on match day

AI teams line up in real formations (Ambitious clubs attack, Penny-Pinchers defend, the rest stay balanced), sit on a full bench and use their entire substitution quota: up to five planned substitutions (two at minute 60, two at 70, one at 80), with their own talents taking priority – and if a player gets injured earlier, the AI simply brings the matching substitution forward. Tactics match the profile too: the Ambitious play controlled attacking football with high commitment, Penny-Pinchers stay careful. And a weak bench player never comes on for a clearly stronger regular – the AI substitutes with common sense.

Strategy

Club DNA pays off twice: when selling, think about whose profile your player fits (talent → Talent Factory, established regular → the Ambitious). And when choosing a club, a look at its behaviour can be worth it – a thrifty club often comes with a well-filled account, a Talent Factory with a young squad full of potential.
