"90+5" — the KoF magazine
Every morning at 5:15 a new issue of "90+5" lands in your world: a proper daily paper that sums up the day before. Who splashed the cash, who has suddenly slipped into the red, which eleven players were the best in your league? The paper reads in two minutes – and tells you more about your world than any table.
Where to find it
The newspaper banner sits right at the top of the home screen. If an issue has appeared that you haven't read yet, it carries a NEW badge; on top of that the paper reports in once a day with a short notice you can simply dismiss. Every world has its own issue – the paper only ever covers the world you're currently playing in.
The sections
| Section | What's in it |
|---|---|
| Front-page story | The most expensive transfer of the previous day as the lead – with the fee and both the selling and the buying club. If the market was quiet yesterday, the "Number of the day" steps in instead. |
| Transfer market | The five biggest fees of the past 24 hours. |
| Team of the matchday | The best formation in your league, built from the ratings of yesterday's matchday – see below. |
| International | Which clubs from your country are still involved in the Champions Cup, the confederation cup and the Kings Cup. |
| Manager merry-go-round | Who took over a club yesterday – and who cleared their desk. |
| Balance check | Manager-run clubs with a negative balance: who has just slipped into the red and who has fought their way back out. |
| Building sites | The three biggest stadium investments of the previous day. |
| Minigame ticker | The season leaderboards for Juggling, Bucket Chip and Goal Wall – including changes at the top and new entries in the top 10. |
| Number of the day | How many matches were played in your world yesterday and how many goals were scored. |
The paper is tailored to you personally: in the international section you see the clubs of your country, in the team of the matchday the best of your league. The rest of the issue is identical for every manager in the world.
The team of the matchday
It is worked out afresh for every league each day – the basis being the player ratings from yesterday's matchday. The formation is a 3-5-2: goalkeeper, three centre-backs and full-backs, five midfielders and two strikers. For every position the place goes to the player with the best rating who has his ideal position there – so a right-back doesn't get pushed into the centre-forward slot just because he had a great game.
Because every slot has to be genuinely filled, the eleven can also fall through: if your league had no matchday yesterday – or if simply no suitable candidate could be found for a position – the editorial team chips in with a line from the coffee kitchen instead. On the next matchday the eleven is back.
The archive
Use the arrows ‹ › in the date bar at the top to leaf through the old issues – all the way back to the very first issue of your world. Nothing is ever deleted: that makes the paper a history book as well, one where you can look up when a club got into trouble or which record transfer defined a season. The NEW badge, by the way, only disappears when you read the current issue – browsing the archive doesn't count.
"90+5" appears daily at 5:15 in each world and sums up the previous day in nine sections. The team of the matchday comes from the ratings in your league and is filled by genuine ideal positions; with no matchday you get a quip instead. The archive reaches back seamlessly to the very first issue.
